Hey everyone, the newsletter will be available here for you to read and enjoy hopefully every week. At the moment i've decided to attach it as a word doc. that way you can see all the colours and different fonts so it will be a little more interesting, but if anyone has any problems with accessing it or anything then let me know and we'll sort something else out for the future.
Modified by Rhiannon for BBCode duplicate:
The attachment for the pretty 2-column Word document can be found at the bottom of this post!
Newsletter: Volume 1
December 31st, 2009
Welcome everyone to the craziness that is the first ever 6 Months, 6 Novels. If you are brave enough to be undergoing this endeavour then CONGRATULATIONS for your courage, or condolences for your sanity. Perhaps both. Either way, this is the spot to find out the latest 6 Mo, 6 No news each week. Your news will be brought to you each week by myself (allmylove aka Cate) and Rhiannon (aka Marie).
All Hail the Creators
For those of you who don’t know. 6 Mo 6 No is brought to us by Dragonyoga and Lizzy (aka Elizabeth Sabourin) at great personal sacrifice (it seems their sanity is quickly slipping away from them). So don’t forget to show your appreciation of them by showering them with your sappy love poems and endless praise. They will of course appreciate it greatly.
Profiles
A quick note to everyone: please, please visit the profiles forum and post your profile along with reading everyone else’s. There is only a small group of us at the moment and there is already an outline of what to write so it shouldn’t take too long and we’d really like to get to know you. And don’t forget to head there to post your progress throughout the year.
Forums
Yes everyone, we have forums. They are there for people to use. And there are more and more all the time so keep checking back to see what’s new. Start off by checking in with the lounges or share some fantastic cover art in the artisans room. Or you could keep scrolling down the page and visit your regional lounge (don’t forget some of them are still looking for moderators, if you’d like to moderate any unmoderated area visit the staff tryout page). Once you’ve decided what you would like to write this month check out the genre lounges and meet the other writer’s in your genre, or if you’re writing fanfiction check out the specific rooms which include some individual book series and tv shows already. If you are totally stuck then keep scrolling down to the tips and strategies and resources and writing support where you will be able to ask questions of the rest of us and find some helpful websites to visit along with plenty of other things like polling and music discussions.
January 1st Sprint
For those of you who need a little motivation to get writing there is going to be a sprint on January 1st. If you are new to sprinting, then it is easy, just visit the sign up page in the Word Wars and Sprints section of the forums and then write as much as you can on January 1st. There will also be other sprints throughout the year to keep an eye out for. We will try and mention them here but keep your eyes on the forums to make sure you don’t miss out.
Spread the Word
Just a quick note. We would like for 6 Mo 6 No to keep growing during the year so don’t forget to tell your writer friends all about it so they can join up too.
