One thing I've discovered since writing this. I should have came online at least! Going here and back to the NaNo November boards has really motivated me to write. In fact at lunch I wrote a plot and a character just because I got a tweet about someone writing a poem a day for 2010. Maybe even a stupid poem writing exercise might help me. If I need it. So anyway, I wrote a stupid poem, plot and character for today.
Maybe a goal poster or something visual so if I can't or don't feel like getting on line.. hmm..
Read about writing like you're doing now. It will make you start thinking and get you pepped up. Check out this site. hollylisle.com/ I started reading it and couldn't help but start writing, it's free unless you decide to do a workshop. Click on the writers tab to go to better list.
Pull out a book you love see who the publisher is, check and see if they have a submission guidelines area on their site, read it! Nothing more will make you excited to write than seeing a publisher actually wanting the type of book you're writing. Here I'll give you one. www.dorchesterpub.com/Dorch/SubmissionGuidlines.cfm
Now hop to it they want your work and I wanna read it!!
Thanks for those! I'm going to have to save them to my netbook when I get home (at work right now on break... ).
Last night I wrote. I wanted to, but again, just couldn't. I think those self doubts were coming in a little. Especially as I was writing. But I wrote over 1400 words. Wrote again this morning. Over 1k. I didn't write as much because I want it to be a little better writing then November's novel. I could always finish it another month on this writing journey. But I did rush the first few pages, I think to get to some exciting parts and to just write. So the first pages will need some major rewriting, but that's okay.
So I also think JUST WRITING helps. The act of writing.
